Blogtember #13: I suck at daily blogging

Topic #13: Share a photo of something old. Maybe something that has personal history for you, that was passed down to you, and that has special meaning to you. Tell us about it and why it's special.

The last day of the September Blogging Challenge and I am honestly happy that it is over. If you haven't noticed the last two weeks I wasn't really taking part anymore... for several reasons, Uni started again, I need to find another job, we are moving house and so on....

But at least I want to finish properly, so this is my picture of something old:

This is a real family tree, really cool!! Isn't it! I don't know how old it is, but when you see me down on the left as a baby, you can reckon it's pretty old :)

I got it from my great-grandma when she died a couple of years ago.
I am really proud of it, because I actually do know all the people on the tree for real, that means that I got to know my great-great-grandma, even though I was pretty young and can hardly remember bits and pieces...

This is one of the things I am always thinking about to maybe take it with me to England, to have it with me, but on the otherside, I am afraid that I loose it, it breaks or got stolen...

So with this nice memory I want to finish the September.
The only two things I am going to do today is packing a few more stuff from our old house and then in the evening I have my first fencing class!!! So excited!^^
I bought a month beginner class from Groupon for 25quid, that's a really good deal! So I just try how it goes.
I am sure I will write something about that as well on my blog here sooner or later ;)

Blogtember #12: React to this term: comfort

Topic #12: React to this term: comfort

Definition of comfort: A condition or feeling of pleasurable ease, well-being, and contentment.
Aha! Well, then it is certainly NOT what I feel right now, due to the fact that Uni is about to start and I need to do and plan so many different things -.- and Handling the money somehow as well.

But I look forward when everything goes its way and works out in the end^^
I look forward to the quiet time of Christmas (if you haven't already noticed, I am already completely in winter mood!).

Comfort means to me: having a calm evening in front of the TV, having a tea, something to eat - preferably a bit of chocolate - and be together with someone you like... and if I cannot be together with my family or pets, then at least with my little Teddy :)

Always with me: Jeannaiya (named after my friends who gave it to me on my birthday)

And just don't think about anything I need to do and need to take care about.
Or maybe think about it, but with the knowledge, that it's not soo urgent that I cannot enjoy my evening :)

I could write so much more about feeling comfortable and everything around it, but I just don't have the time to get my head around it....
So that would be it!
I honestly have to say that I am happy when this blogging challenge is over^^ I pretty suck, especially now at the end (as if I wouldn't have known it earlier that everything gets more stressful now).
That definitely doesn't make me feel comfortable^^

Blogtember #10: A memory you would love to relive

Topic #10: A memory you would love to relive

Honestly there are a few memories I would love to relive, especially when I think about my travels...But the memory I think about at the moment is ages ago, as I still lived with my parents at home and my two brothers as well and we had our dog, called "Rambo" (was the perfect name for him!).
I don't have any pictures of that time, I was probably about 12 maybe, so more than 10 years ago!
An it was in winter - damn I L.O.V.E. winter and cold and snow and especially CHRISTMAS!!! I look soooo forward, baking cookies, the typical smell, the typical music (especially the German music) and snow (oh yeah, already sad that...)

Pictures of our garden as my mum tried to make me jealous with this awesome snow while I was in London

My memory is from one specific afternoon when we all were outside in the forest, mum, dad, dog and the kiddies and it was sooo much fun! Snowball fights (though I always lose...), building a snowman or whatever.
It was really great, because that was one of the few times my mother came with us, she is not much of an action person and prefers to have a calm day at home.

As we came home my hands were so cold that I couldn't open the button of my wet trousers and I needed to ask my mummy, so hilarious!!
Having a hot tea with christmas cookies in front of tv and watching a christmas film - perfection!!!

I so look forward to Christmas and spending winter time with my family, even though I know, that my oldest brother (who has a girlfriend and a child now) won't come... but still, the rest gonna be awesome, baking cookies with granma!! maybe even a typical gingerbread house like we used to do years ago with my other granma from my father... :)

Do you like Christmas or winter??

Blogtember #9: Write a public love letter to someone in your life

Topic #9: Write a public love letter to someone in your life. (It doesn't necessarily need to be romantic.)

Ok, so here we go again to another week of the Blogtember Challenge :) I am honestly happy that I managed so far to write every day except once! Yay!!^^

So today we have to write a public love letter, I am not going to write about a person, like a lot of you probably do. I could write why and how much I love my mum, but I don't think that this is necessary, she surely knows that and everybody who doesn't love there mum, there is unfortunately something wrong...
And since I don't have a boyfriend or the time for a close relationship, there is nothing to mention here either :)

So the "someone" I am going to write this letter is one of my cats:

Dear Piri,

You are surely one of the best things that happend in my life! I am happy that my mum found the awesome job with the coolest two bosses you could have and you running on their property as a young sick little baby, not going away from my mother's side.
Even though we haven't had planned to extend our family, my mother just couldn't let you there and brought you home. I instantly fell in love with you and it was my task to give you a name. I called you after a book I love when I was younger "little cat Piri".

Our little beauty: Piri Mietz!! :)
You were so tiny and dirty! The vet needed a bit time to make you healthy, but it was worth it! :)
At the beginning we weren't sure if you should be outside or just inside of the house, but you were so weak, that we thought you couldn't survive an hour on the street.
always looking for fun!^^
You slept in my bed, normally close (or even on!!!) my face, do you remember? Sad you don't do that anymore :/ But you still come cuddle and ask for attention with your little pidgeon voice. Let's face it, you cannot call that "meow" what you do o.O

I love to annoy you, because you never get seriously angry, but please stop chasing our old girl, she is already 17 and needs her rest!! Wait until you're that age and I come after you *grrrrr*
But sometimes you just need to chill with the family and watchin' tv
Piri, you really make me not miss a dog! You perfectly know how to fetch every little piece of paper all day long and chasing every little waterdrop out of the sink.
You like to cuddle me when I sit on the toilet (yes!^^) and make me laugh when you are on the toilet aka "shake it (your body) like a polaroid picture" haha!!
It's amazing that you listen to my voice and come when I call you! You are different, than other cats :)
So tempted to turn the water on....^^
You are one of the main reasons why I miss home.

Do you have an animal you really love and have a deep relationship with??

Blogtember #8: Discuss ways that blogging or social media has changed you

Topic #8: Discuss ways that blogging or social media has changed you

First of all, yes both - blogging and social - have changed me, but honestly, everybody changes when they get in contact with new things, some are reluctant and are completely against it (so they change to being really negative about everyting 'new') and others just totally go with the flow.

I did the second way, even though it took me quite a time! I got my first Facebook request ages ago from my former penfriend... and it was totally unknown and I thought I don't need it... what for? But now I am checking it every day at least a few times, writing messages to people all over the world, check the news feed and discover interesting websites and so on.
I was pretty addicted with all this, spending hours on the internet wasting my time, ruining my eyes and feeling the consequences of sitting the whole day on your ass -.-

One good think... websites like language communities really helps you to get in contact with natives, thanks to that I got to know my friend from Brazil I could stay with for free during the Confederations Cup where I volunteered this year :)

Just a random picture I took from the bathroom of a friend^^ Cute!!!!
But now I am a bit better.... just check my facebook twice a day or so (just if I am expecting a message, that's different^^) and try to do things away from my computer, at least a few hours per day, getting our into the nature and just not thinking about the internet.... which is honestly really difficult sometimes. This blogging challenge is actually not really helpful, haha^^

But there are things I still have problems to see the sense.... for example Twitter or Pinterest... if there is something important to share, I got facebook... so why do I need 1001 other sites to share that, it's time consuming and distracting...
For business people maybe awesome, but for me as a 'normal' unfamouse person with a normal job it's just not worth it.... I think.
I might think differently in the future.....

Blogging changes my view of the world totally, there is almost no day without me thinking 'omg, I should take a picture of that, might be good on my blog' or 'I could write about that'
As well it feels as if I try to be much more into things I do and places I visit, when I go on holiday, taking pictures, I always got in mind that I want to write something about it... so I take notes and just try to be more attentive in my environment.

Another fact I love about blogging and social media is the attention you can get as well and that you can use it for good causes for example, promoting an organisation you love or show the people what's really going on in the world... it's pretty awesome!

Do you use your blog to support non-profits or other organizations as well?

p.s.: tomorrow I am not going to write....my weekend start earlier this week^^

Blogtember #7: favorite online shops

Topic #7: Share links to your favorite online shops, preferably with a few photos of your favorite items in each shop.

1.) BLEED CLOTHING

Bleed is a young German fashion label I fell in love with currently and they produce sustainable unbelievable awesome and pretty clothes, that has it's price....^^

2.) DAWANDA

Dawanda is a bit like Etsy, you offer your self made things to sell.... and some of those things are beautiful and professional... unfortunately that has it's price, too....

3.) SEVENLY

That is not really a 'normal' shop, but every week you can support a special cause by buying a design which was made extra for this cause, it's just awesome^^ I love it!! I need to take care that I don't buy every week something....

4.) LOV ORGANIC

Blogtember #6: Describe a distinct moment when your life took a turn

Topic #6: Describe a distinct moment when your life took a turn.

I cannot really think about a distinct moment where my life took a complete turn, but I think the day I applied through clearing at my Univesity in London and got accepted just a few hours later! That's when I thought my life actually starts now... Because this was one of my biggest wishes in life, to study abroad, preferable in England!

epic picture from the London Eye taken by me^^
Before that point I wasn't too happy with my life. Didn't travel much, never had many good friends and just felt lonely and said because I couldn't live my dreams.
I cannot say that I had a bad childhood though, but I wasn't one of the cool kids and always the last choice when it was about choosing someone for group work. I can blame myself for that as well, bad influence from a 'friend' and I went through a punk, rebel and emo phase, which luckily didn't last long enough to ruine my life completely....

(those are two pictures where my rebel phase already was slowly comming to an end, but still I'd love to colour my hair every month... it's still quite tempting now, but first I have to find a job where I can do that^^)

But now everything is better, I am more satisfied with my life and way of living and since I am not that often home anymore, I get on much better with my parents again and look forward to visit them (even though not my old city, since I don't need to see all the weird people from my school....^^)

Have you ever had such a rebel phase and/or problems with your parents?

Blogtember #5: A personality test

Topic #5: Take this short personality test and respond to your results

So today for the Blogtember Challenge we had to take a little personality test and share our results...
I normally don't give too much about such tests, it's entertaining and maybe informative to do them, but I normally don't really see the reason behind doing that or I discover something about me I didn't know before...
It's like those funny and stuped test "when and how will you die" or "when and who will you marry". You do them for fun, laugh about the results and forget it^^

But here now the test we did for the Blogtember, my results are following:

Ok, ok, ok... I am obviously a bit more introverted that I thought... but I never really realise that and other people normally say about me the opposite o.O I think I would agree about the rest, though...

But here is another tricky thing about those tests, they explain a situation and you have to say how you act. For example if you love to be the center of attention or not. Now it's about your self-assessment, how you really act or how you would like to act or how you see yourself acting and how others think how you act^^
Do you see what I mean?
I like answering those questions, but I always have a problem between "I do" and "I want to do". But never mind...^^

So I would be interested to see how many of you are this type "INFJ" as well??? When I look at other famouse people and the description of this type I am quite proud of myself, hehe. Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr., Goethe, Mother Teresa or Jamie Foxx and Evangeline Lilly (Lost), to note down some actors as well.... So I am in good company^^

Here are some quotes I really like about the INFJ type and describe me as well:
- INFJs hold deep convictions about the weightier matters of life
- Though affable and sympathetic to most, INFJs are selective about their friends. Such a friendship is a symbiotic bond that transcends mere words (so true!!!!)
- INFJs have a knack for fluency in language and facility in communication (thanks, I agree^^)
- Strongly humanitarian in outlook (always!)
- they are generally "doers" as well as dreamers (I am more a dreamer though)
- They are, in fact, sometimes mistaken for extroverts because they appear so outgoing and are so genuinely interested in people (ok, that might explain the point I mentioned earlier....)
- inner conflicts are also not uncommon in INFJs (all the time!)
- they tend to have strong writing skills (oh really? mh, don't really agree^^)
- Many INFJs perceive themselves at a disadvantage when dealing with the mystique and formality of "hard logic" (tell me about it...)

They have as well suggestions of studies and work you could do with your type of personality and I am quite happy to see that many of the directions I am interested in are mentioned as well, like Health Care.
I know at the moment I am doing quite a different thing with my "International Relations and Language" Bachelor, but I want to connect both somehow in the future. For example as a medical interpret. Have you ever heard of that? I just discovered this type of job a couple of days ago and totally fell in love with what you are doing! :)

So, I honestly have to say that this was one of a test I liked more or less and was even a bit informative.
What about you? Are you going to be a future Nelson Mandela or Mother Teresa, haha!!^^
