Lost in Paris - Part 7: the Sacre Coeur

La Basilique du Sacré Coeur de Montmartre muss man natürlich auch mal aus der Nähe gesehen haben.
Also haben wir uns eines Abends dorthin begeben.
Auf dem Weg ist uns aufgefallen, dass die Gegend um das Sacre Coeur jetzt nicht so einladend wirkt und wir uns bemüht haben, schnell voran zu kommen.
Doch die beleuchtete Kirche sieht schon von weitem wunderschön aus und wenn man sich dann noch die gefühlten 1000 Treppenstufen hochgequält hat, kann man den atemberaubenden Ausblick auf Paris und den leuchtenden Eiffelturm genießen.
 La Basilique du Sacré Coeur de Montmartre is definitely a must seen at close range.
So we went there for one evening.
On the way we have noticed, that the area around the Sacre Coeur doesn't look very welcoming, so we tried to walk as fast as possible.
But the lighted church looks already beautiful from the distance and after climbing the about maybe 1000 steps^^ you can see the stunning view on Paris and the lighted Eiffel tower.

Fazit: Ich denke bei Nacht ist es einfach noch schöner anzusehen und auch den Blick auf Paris, was mir jedoch nicht gefällt, ist der Kommerz der in solchen großen Kirchen betrieben wird. Was bitteschön hat ein "Erinnerungsmünzautomat" IN einer Kirche zu tun?! Wenn man dann schön das Klimpern des Geldes hört, das hat wenig andächtiges und stört schon ziemlich...
 Conclusion: I think to see the Sacre Coeur by night is even more beautiful and with the great view on Paris, but what I don't like is the commerce in such big curches. I mean why is there a "remember coin machine" IN the church?! When you hear those noises of the coins... is not really attentive and it distrubs...
